"Beat the Odds" Contest

Are you in the process of starting up a business, and need a boost to get it going? Everything that needs to be done can be daunting, like coming up with eye-catching promotional material. You want to look professional and taken seriously in your new business but you just don’t know how to go about it.

Linda Graceffo of Sparkling Graphic & Design, a successful graphic designer, who is celebrating five years in business is currently running a contest that might be of interest. Graceffo says “I was floored when I heard the Industry Canada statistics that 50% of small sized businesses fail within five years of start-up. Nearly 80% are gone within 10 years. Not great odds”. Beat the Odds is a contest directed specifically at that frazzled new business owner. Graceffo will design a logo and business cards for the winner of the contest. Linda is starting her fifth year in business with some exciting changes including a new updated look to her office and the addition of professional book designing services, including jacket cover design. This is in addition to offering design of print quality publicity materials such as business cards, brochures, flyers, rack cards, logo design, custom graphics, photo restoration, e-books, yearbooks and digital collage to name a few. “If you have an idea but just can’t do it that’s what I’m here for”, says Linda. Animal lovers may also know Linda through her bi-monthly publication The Scoop on Pets, available free from libraries, recreation centres, veterinarian clinics and pet supply stores. Linda is an associate member of the Comox Valley Home Based Business Association and an active member of the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce.
